Talking with the dead

How to bring back a life lost to history, through writing? How to tread carefully in your research of those passed or generations unknown?

This is an accessible online workshop for writers in any form – fiction, poetry, nonfiction – and at any level of experience. It is ideal for those who are interested to research character as well as historical and place-based settings. The workshop may provide ways in to a project not yet begun, or ways to elaborate on a draft in progress.

Over 2 hours we will develop writing in response to guided prompts which generate rich interviews with people or characters whose lives took place in other times. The workshop will provide tips on emotional safety, creative research methods, and ethics of writing with lives passed and past.
